Needful Things... and Rust
A friend from work (thank you Cathey)told me about a country road she was on that had some neat old barns and "buildings with old things hanging on them". I found the old barns and of course got some shots of them, but when I found the "buildings with old things hanging on them" I was thrilled and stopped to take dozens of shots.
There are so many wonderful things on and around this building and a smaller one next to it, this will probably fill my blog for the rest of the week. I hope you find it as interesting as I do.

Brick House Revisited
Some of you will remember this old broken down building from a few weeks ago. I went back to visit it today and was delighted to see some goats in the field.
I still couldn't get up close to it but I did walk further up and down the road to get some different views.
I like the detail and texture in the brick with the telephoto lens.

Abandoned
Coming home from the coast, we discovered this beautiful, old, large, abandoned house. It looks like Christmas trees are planted in front of it. I really, really, really want to explore this house and take some close up shots, but its on private property with a fence and a gate. Would you love to explore it too?

Annie, yes we did!
We did get covered with snow today. It was so beautiful. So I grabbed my camera, skipped a couple hours of work and headed to high ground. The good thing is that I had the roads all to myself. The bad thing is that the reason I DID have the roads all to myself was because they looked like this.
I got so many shots I really like but I won't lay them all on you at once.
In a few places I ran into blizzard conditions
I hope the snow isn't all gone in the morning.

A Broken Building and a Mystery
When I was out exploring last weekend, I discovered this beautiful broken down building. It is amazing and I plan to go back out and do more shooting. The mystery is what was this building used for? Its made of brick so I doubt it was built for a tool shed. Its too small to have been a house yet it has plumming. Its in the middle of a field next to a sawmill but I'm sure the building came before the mill.
Maybe I'll try to sneak into the field and get a better look next time.

An Old House, An Old Barn And A Funny Cow Story
Sunday I was driving near Camas Valley, Oregon and stopped to take a shot of an old falling down house and barn.
As I was clicking away, a cow at the other end of the field looked up to see what I was doing
and came to stare at me from the other side of the fence.
Soon other cows came to see what the first cow and I were doing
and they stared at me too... and started mooing. By this time I was laughing and clicking..
The more cows came.. the more cows stared.. the more cows mooed...the more I laughed
When I finally drove away there was a whole herd of cows standing by the fence staring at me and mooing.
And I'm sure people in Camas Valley are still wondering who that strange lady was standing by the road laughing like crazy and taking photos of ordinary cows.
