Two weekends ago we drove over to the coast. The beach in Bandon is one of my favorite Oregon beaches. The weather was perfect and the ocean was calm.



Compare the above photo to this one which was taken several years ago of the same area. This one includes my daughter and grandson. Much different seas here.

A Walk at Dusk

I played around with softening and I think I got this too soft. I'll leave it a day and decide later.

What I Found on The Beach.. A Shell

You can tell how small this shell is by the size of the grains of sand. Its amazing how many colors there are in ordinary sand. We think of it as gray but check out the different colors here.

What I Found on The Beach - A Dead Crab

This baby didn't make it. Not pretty but dead critters are always part of a walk on the beach. This one was tiny. The shell wasn't more than an inch across.

What I Found on The Beach - A Wet Feather

I walked along the beach and rather than take my usual photos of the ocean, the waves, the ocean birds, the skys... I looked down and took photos of the common things I saw lying on the sand.

This feather was the first thing I shot. I noticed the water drops on it but until I got home and edited it I didn't notice how the water drops magnified parts of the feather.

For the next few days I'll show you the interesting things I found on the beach.

Oregon Shores

Saturday at the coast the skies and the water were mostly grey but Sunday with just a little sun the water was a brillient blue. I loved both the greys and the blues but Sunday made better photos.

Blue

I love the color of the water here. It amazes me how the ocean can be so many different colors at different times.

Bandon Revisited

My life has taken a turn for the busier recently and I'm lucky to have half an hour a day at my computer. In a couple weeks it should slow down again but in the meantime I hope you will forgive me if I repeat a post from last years PAD occasionally. This is a repeat but one of my favorites.

Beautiful Day on the Bay

This was taken a couple months ago in Newport Oregon.

Pacific Waves

A trip to the ocean isn't complete without capturing the beauty of the waves with the white sparkling foam, the rich greens...



...the vibrant blues...



...and even an occasional rainbow.
