I must apologize for my lack of commenting and not posting every day recently. Those of you who keep track of that sort of thing may know that the Feds doubled the amount of funding going to the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) program this year. This is a very good thing because with the high price of gas, groceries and medicine, many low-income families have trouble paying their heat bills in the winter.
This is one of the programs I run for Douglas County, Oregon. What this means for us is that we have approximately $1.2 million dollars to spend, $300 at a time, making payments to utility companies on behalf of these low-income families. But what this also means is that, for right now, between this program and another big project at work, I'm working 10-12 hour days and then coming home and working on yet another project! Whew!
Some of it will end soon and I'll be back to normal. :)
