www.Wafoo.info, www.NYdailyNews.com

The Daily News contacted me and asked if I would cover a concert for them.   They said they couldn't pay me but I would get credit along side the photo when it ran and if I couldn't do it then they would just send one of their staff photographers to Staten Island. .Just a sad testament to the times and the economy.  I am still a card carrying member of the NEW YORK PRESS PHOTOGRAPHERS ASSOCIATION and this is something that I am used to from the Staten Island Advance (Just today I saw a photo of mine on their cover.  It was a portrait Brendan Coyle and Amanda Curtis who receivedthe 2010 Cultural Congressional Award for creating the Second Saturday event in SI. The photo had no credit and I remember that the S.I. Advance used it  before so once they have a image in their files I guess they figure they own it or something.   The concert the NEWS wanted me to cover was a fundraiser for Japan and just happened to be organized by my friends in the band WAFOO.   Also playing on the bill was Julian Maile who is also a good friend of mine so the deal was done, I would do anything thing to help out these guys and bring attention to a worthwhile cause.  I am also glad to say that all 7 photographs I donated to their silent
auction sold so I was able to help out in more ways than one...
