From my office window

I was blessed with this view from my office window two weeks ago.

View from my office window

I haven’t been around much lately. I’ve been so busy with the Holidays and having company, and just haven’t felt inclined to post to my blog. I’ll be back after the first of the year.

PPANJ Holiday Portraits!

I was asked again to make portraits at the Professional Photographers of America New Jersey (PPANJ) Annual Holiday Party ( it is something I missed doing last year!) Nothing pleases me more than photographing friends (in this case photographers) and with Terry's help we not only captured images of everyone but were able to print them out too! The mood at Forsgate Country Club was festive and we had a line right from the start, couples, individuals, the officers of the North, Central and South Regions and many small groups such as Stacy Evans of Capri Albums and her posse, Larry D (ex-lead singer with the Grease Band, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Thea and her husband Jim (from the band THE NERDS) who sang for us and those Rising Photographic Stars Terry and Noelle. Hats off to the committee members that put this party togther, for a while there it looked like it wasn't going to happen!

Phil Fiumano is a prolific producer and cinematographer hailing from New York City. He hosts his own monthly TV show on Public Access Television for AOL Time Warner Studios. I myself have received certification as a independent Television producer/ cameraman & video editor from Staten Island Community TV (CTV). When he called me into service 6 months ago it was a natural fit that I would help out. It has been a very interesting 6 months, some of the acts we have committed to video are Deadlyz, Martyrd, Mystical Children, Rob Dukes from Exodus, Donna Dixon, It's Not Over, Destructive Stereo and Brendan Coyle and Amanda Curtis.

Isn't it Spring Yet?

Waiting for Spring

This shot isn't from our new snow fall but it could be. All around us is white and COLD!

We're headed up I-5 to Portland tomorrow to pick up our grandson at the airport. I'm a bit nervous. Its a three hour drive and the freeway was closed because of ice several times today. They expect the same tomorrow but with more snow. We will be back Wednesday if the roads cooperate. Good thoughts and prayers appreciated.

I Was Framed!

Cute to the max. This is one of several kittens a friend’s mama cat birthed. We did a photo shoot of the babies so she could show photos when she starting finding them new homes.

Framed Kitten

I decided to play with the frames option in Paint Shop Pro so I did a web search and found a fantastic site that has literally thousands of beautiful frames to download free of charge. Patchesangel’s website is awesome and beautifully done. This is one of the frames I grabbed from her. Thanks Patchesangel.

Rusty Boat

I discovered this wonderful, rusty old boat near the docks in Newport Oregon. I wish the top stood out better from the background. Next time I'm in that area I'll have to try different angles.

Actually Roger is a old friend from my years at B & H PHOTO VIDEO when I sold cameras to the likes of Lou Reed, Spike Lee, Andy Garcia, Cicely Tyson, David Schwinner, Harvey Keitel and ELLIOT ERWWITT.

CARMINE APPICE is a world class drummer, LED ZEPPELIN opened up for his band VANILLA FUDGE back in the day! Then he played behind ROD STEWART and in 1973 was one third of the power trio, BECK, BOGART & APPICE! I met him at the New Utrecht 63 H.S. reunion that was organized by that wonderful event planner ELLEN KRASNOFF and was celebrated in the BROOKLYN school itself! Almost 300 alumni attended and relived their memories! They were not disappointed, not only did we get treated to music and performances by the band REMINISE, the BEBOPS and EMIL STUCCHIO and the CLASSICS. Carmine himself joined in for a few songs and even Marilyn and Elvis made the scene!

Waiting for MADONNA

Here I am in the phone booth at Larry Leidy's Shore Inn (the oldest bar in Staten Island NY) on the set where Madonna calls her dad (Danny Aiello) during the music video "Papa don't Preach"
I'm using my cell phone cause I don't have a quarter and she always late!

Heron in Wetlands

This heron is wounded but I didn’t notice it until I downloaded the photos. Poor baby. I hope it heals quickly.

The band of collective musicians and artists known as SPRAY PAINT STAR were making their music video debut called PHARAOH OF GRAFFITI in the West Village on the rooftop of Westbeth, NYC. This popular group has been creating a sensation downtown and with the coming release of their new song will be exciting audiences worldwide!!

Maybe I cheated a bit with this post. It isn't about the sky as much as what is in the sky.

Oregon Coast Bridge

From this angle I'm not sure which bridge this is but I think its the Newport bridge. The strange effects were not added. I think there must have been some smoke in the air.
