Danger - Sea Lions on Dock

With yesterdays post, some of you wondered how the people shared the docks with the sea lions. I have no answer. I wonder too. These critters are everywhere on the docks. I've been there a few times and have never seen what happens when people need to get to their boats. I watched someone with a camera walk down the ramp to get closer for a shot and one of the sea lions took off after him. Needless to say the man quickly headed back up the ramp.

King Of The Dock

Astoria Oregon has an abundance of sea lions. On a recent trip I watched a game of King Of The Dock.

This sea lion was enjoying a sunny spot on the dock....



When this guy decided he wanted the same sunny spot....



A noisy discussion ensued (without waking the sleeping neighbors) ....



with the new comer prevailing....



and becoming the new King Of The Dock....



.... and the rest of the gang slept on.

The Sphinx

When we were at the coast a couple weeks ago, my friend Darlene pointed out that this rock looks like the sphinx. I was amazed at how much. Look at the tiny people at the base of the rock to see how large this is.
